British Institute of Cleaning Science ESG Award Finalist
Total Clean recently attended the coveted award ceremony of the British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICSc) which they attended as finalists for their commitment to their environmental responsibilities and credentials (ESG).
BICSc is the largest professional body in the cleaning industry, dedicated to raising the standards of commercial cleaning. They boost education and build awareness of the proper cleaning, safety and hygiene protocols through the implementation of professional training.
Their Environmental (ESG) award is proof of recognition that a company has adhered to and focused on environmental and social governance in their regulations and business practices. The ESG award is carried out in collaboration with the Worshipful Company of Environmental Cleaners and companies will need to be able to demonstrate their comprehensive ESG plan and prove that the whole team is engaged with these responsibilities.
ESG stands for Environmental, Social and Governance, and denotes the standards and regulations set in place for a business. These standards analyse the impact our company has on the wider society we’re based in, our impact on the environment and our level of transparency and accountability when it comes to promoting and highlighting these business values.
Evidence of environmental standards can include records of significant environmental aspects, accreditations and proof on social media and communication channels. Social evidence meanwhile can include evidence of community projects and volunteering events, work experience and apprenticeship programmes and a strong foundation of equality, diversity and inclusion in the business.
At Total Clean, we strive for environmental and social excellence in all our business practices including providing completely environmentally sustainable cleaning products in our Total Defence range. All of our cleaning products are also packaged in fully biodegradable material.
We also practise environmental care by using solar panels on our roof to power our operational headquarters and using our electric vehicle fleet to cut down on our carbon emissions.
We are proud of our achievements within ESG and are thrilled that we became a finalist amongst such esteemed and prolific players in the cleaning industry. Tork, a major supplier of janitorial paper products was a worthy winner and we’re thrilled that they have been recognised for their greatness in ESG in the industry.
We want to thank BICSc for validating our work in environmental and social governance and for putting on a fabulous award ceremony which we look forward to attending again next year!
