There are hundreds of them out there and I risk saying that the cleaning industry is saturated with too many office cleaning companies, especially here in London. Such saturation is lowering the quality of the cleaning services offered and it is becoming ever so hard to find an efficient office cleaning company.

In this article I’ll give you some tips on how to hire an efficient office cleaning company that will not only get the job done but that does it respecting the cleaning industry regulations as well as its employees.

A highly efficient office cleaning service is all about good costumer service, training and flexibility. Look for companies that provide detailed information on how their workforce is trained and what qualification they have, are they professional cleaners or just party time workers, be very careful here many of these so “professional cleaning companies” employ illegal immigrants which you know is serious infringement of the law here in the UK and EU countries.

Flexibility and customer service are closely related. When I refer to flexibility I mean the flexibility to work outside office hours so it doesn’t get in the way of day to day activities in your office. A reliable customer service doesn’t necessary need to be a 24hr helpline but a service that is always there when you need it to clarify services provided as well as invoicing and other questions that might arise regarding their cleaning jobs.

Health and Safety

Ask for the companies health and safety policy, if they don’t have one the is a huge signal that they are not as professional as they say they are. An office cleaning health and safety policy should cover all the necessary and practical steps of its employees and people affected by its activities by providing training, safety devices and protective clothing when necessary.

Quality Control

It is extremely important that the chosen office cleaning company offers a quality control plan that is specially designed to meet your requirements and your premises specifications. Staff briefing should be as detailed as possible and work schedule prepared according to each area and clearly displayed. In some cases a checklist is also a good alternative to ensure that work is carried out according to your requirements.

Don’t forget to ask about their random checks policy normally carried out by a cleaning supervisor; in many cases this is included in the company’s Health and Safety Policy.

Environmental Concern

Environmental concern is the hot topic these days. Companies that don’t have an Environmental Concern Policy are being left out and this is not different in the cleaning industry. I’m sure your company has one so why not hire a service provider that also cares for our planet as much as you do. Simple details can go a long away; ask if they work with eco-friendly cleaning products, what is their approach to minimising waste and the consumption of resources (materials, fuel and energy). These simple questions can make difference for the environment in the long run. You know what they say, every little helps.

Commercial Cleaning Accreditations

To sum things up the office cleaning company should have at least one of two accreditations or memberships that will ensure that their services adhere to strict codes of practice and are subject to external audits to check compliance. Some good examples are the ISO 9001 Accreditation and The British Institute of Cleaning Science membership.

If you own a business in London then you might know there are many commercial cleaners and office cleaners in the city. You may not know that there are some specific cleaning services available to you, though. Just do a simple online search for cleaning services in London to discover a wide variety of services offered by numerous cleaning companies.

There are more than just office cleaners; there are also cleaners for pubs, shops, restaurants, warehouses, and other commercial businesses. These dedicated companies provide daily cleaning programmes, as well as those that are less frequent. The advertisements noted that you could opt in for carpet dusting, window cleaning, upholstery cleaning, or speciality options. Many of the companies offer hard to reach options for both indoor and outdoor needs.

The best part about the process and the professionally tailored service is their dedication to offer an affordable solution that is both professional and efficient. One such commercial cleaning company has made it their mission to offer the best employees they can staff. Their staff is not only skilled in cleaning, but they have also had the proper training in safety and health. Restaurants for example require that you clean surfaces and the sitting area to certain codes. A failure to keep a restaurant clean can be detrimental.

Hiring a professional cleaning staff through commercial cleaners in London ensures your business’s cleanliness for many years to come. You can also feel safe in knowing that no matter where they are cleaning, even in the harder to access regions, all areas will be given the same priority unless otherwise instructed. Professionalism is imperative in any business. The professionally trained staff of these institutions understands this; therefore they offer you uniformed staff who will work around your needs. Whatever is convenient for you as the client will also be convenient for the office cleaners of Wokingham.

If you want more proof that the commercial cleaners in London are what you desire all you have to do is look at their business references and testimonials of their clients. Look no further than London for your commercial cleaners. London simply has the proper staff and office cleaners you require for your building in the city. It does not matter if you require car park and washroom cleaning or other maintenance, the commercial cleaning companies in London are there for you.

With highly trained staff to work quickly, without damaging any of your property. However, if an unfortunate event does occur you can feel content knowing the office cleaners in London will take care of your tidiness needs.

Superbug killing products company Germ Warfare has moved to the Isle of Man recently after being offered extensive grants.

Germ founder Paul Ward, who impressed James Caan on Dragon’s Den so much that he offered to invest, will see up to 40% of his capital investment, property and marketing expenses paid for this year.

He said: “The Isle of Man (government) are also fantastic. It’s 100% the grants from them to help us set up. Research and development and marketing; everything a small business would need they have offered to us.”

Germ Warfare is setting up its sales operations on the island and plans to relocate its new product development and its manufacturing.

Germ has developed a range of cleaning products that kill harmful bacteria including c.difficile spore, MRSA, swine flu at hand temperature and without the use of chemicals that can cause irritation to the skin.

Launched in January 2008 the company sold £500,000 worth of cleaning agents into doctor surgeries, large employers like Royal Bank of Scotland, and online shoppers.

This is a positive direction for the killing of superbugs and what we think is a worthy investment for the Isle of Man.

The cleaning industry is one of the few areas bucking the recession with around 45,000 jobs available at any one time.

In fact the number is more likely to be 60,000 when including part time domestic jobs.

Andrew Large of the Cleaning and Support Services Association explains: “The cleaning industry has an advantage when there’s an economic downturn – after all – it is essential.”

No matter what happens you still need clean hospitals, schools and offices.”

He continues: “With the presence of swine flu too, the importance of hygiene is becoming more and more apparent.

The cleaning industry employs at least one million people, meaning the number of vacancies is naturally high as people come and go.”

Mr Large adds: “I know one man who started out as a carpet cleaner in his teens and now has a £50million business. If you’re prepared to work hard there are plenty of opportunities.”

It’s also a good industry if you want a stable job or career.

But if you yourself are looking for a fantastic contract cleaning company then Total Clean offer bespoke cleaning services. For more information please visit our website.

According to a new report from the British Medical Association, pressure to treat too many patients too quickly leaves little time for proper hospital cleaning.

The BMA also said hospitals should face sanctions if they fail to implement simple strategies like washing hands with soap and water or using alcohol rubs.

Dr Vivienne Nathanson said measures like deep cleaning and bare ‘below the elbows’ needed to be part of the long-term measures and regular, thorough cleaning of hospitals.

She said: ‘Deep cleaning is a good thing provided you go in and do all the other organisational things and keep your cleaning at a high level.’

This includes proper cleaning of things like the buttons on machines and switches, she added: ‘We are not dismissing deep clean but it does not work on its own.’

The report also said that the areas of a hospital that posed the greatest risk to patients were not always included in cleaning contracts.

For a bespoke cleaning contract that meets all your needs, contact Total Clean Services Ltd.

The conservative party has attacked health secretary Nicola Sturgeon, over plans to ban NHS bosses from putting more hospital cleaning services out to contract.

The Tory MSP said: ‘It was disingenuous, misleading and wrong of the SNP health secretary Nicola Sturgeon to infer that external cleaning contracts were to blame for recent outbreaks of hospital acquired infections.’

’She should concentrate on practical measures which would make a difference and not waste time on misguided political ideology.’

Ms Sturgeon told the SNP annual conference in Perth that she is banning hospitals from contracting out anymore cleaning and catering services.

She said she was setting ‘very tough’ new targets to cut rates of C difficile, and added that ‘the very highest standards of hospital cleanliness’ would be required to meet this.

She added: ‘A letter will issue from my department to all health boards advising them that from now on there will be no further privatisation of hospital cleaning and catering services anywhere in Scotland.’

A leading anti-microbial technology company is working with a specialist IT cleaning company, in a bid to fight superbugs spread through office equipment.

The move to address infection transmission in the workplace comes on the back of a study which examined bacteria levels on different surfaces in a UK office. The study found that the level of bacteria on keyboards is up to 14 times higher than toilet seats.

Deputy Chairman for Byotrol, Stephen Falder explains:

“Office equipment is the perfect breeding ground for bacteria. Skin diseases, fungal infections, hepatitis and blood poisoning can be transmitted via a keyboard alone. Bugs such as listeria, salmonella and MRSA have also been found on office equipment.

Operations Director at Techclean Services Limited, Richard Samarasinghe, says:

“Companies are happy to employ window cleaners and people to vacuum but many of them forget about the danger at their finger tips. Every time we fire off an email we could be picking up a dangerous infection. A flu virus can survive for many hours living in a keyboard.”

How clean is your office equipment, if you don’t know the answer then it’s probably time to employ a Contract Cleaning company.

Total Clean Services Ltd offers a bespoke daily/periodic contract cleaning service to include all the needs of a modern building.

You don’t necessarily need fancy, expensive cleaning products to clean up. So here are some useful tips to cleaning up with items you have around the house:

- Use a air freshener to clean mirrors. Not only does it do a good job of cleaning, but it also leaves a lovely smell.

- Stop a fridge freezer rusting by spraying it with furniture polish.

- Use Hairspray to remove magic marker.

According to research your computer keyboard can harbour more bacteria than the average toilet seat.

Microbiologists and computer experts have found that office workers could be putting their health at risk, because their keyboards are home to 150 times more bacteria than the recommended limit.

Health experts said many of the bugs could be caused by workers failing to practise essential hygiene routines and eating lunch at PCs is also thought to contribute to the spread of bacteria.

Microbiologist, James Francis who led the investigation said two keyboards he examined under a microscope contained levels of bacteria so high they had to be removed from the office. He also said one carried more bacteria than the average toilet seat and that he had rarely come across anything as filthy.

I feel slightly disturbed by this, sitting here tapping at my keyboard.

Perhaps it’s time to hire a contract cleaning company to clean your office!
